I was listing some watches I pulled from my safe, yes some listed now go check them out. I got to a nice looking 992B in #17BOC case and noticed the bow was loose. THe case is to pristine for it to be worn that much. I remember these were like a spring pin inside aren't they? unlike the wadsworth BOC cases. My question is how do you remove the pin, is there some secret? I can see in beside the bow a little and it almost looks like someone had to put the bow back on for what ever reason and used way to small of a pin. THe holes do not look elongated plus the fact such little wear to rest I am certain it is ok just to small of a pin. Any help is appreciated. I guess next question would be wear to find a correct pin.

Rob, There 4 pins in all in that setup. Once you get it apart you will see what I mean. Two pins to hold the bow in, and two pins to hold the bar in. There is a spring in the bar, and when you put it back together you will see that the pins in the bar will hold the pins in place for the bow.

The way I remove the bar is to take something sharp like a razor blade, put it next to the tower on the pendent pushing down and toward the bar. Put pressure on the bar with your thumb before you release the blade. Then just repeat what you just did till you feel it drop down a little, and you got it. Smile Just be careful you don't loose the pins when you take the bar out all the way!!

That is the best way to do it that I can see. Thanks to Lindell, who walked me through it a while ago. It sure has helped me with a lot of these #17 cases, Thanks Lindell!! Smile

Regards,
Larry

Is there any pins to be found that would work.

If I loose them, or they seem warn, I just make them Rob. I have actually cut down old case screws and used them with great success.

Just remember, the spring in the bar is what will hold everything in place for you. While you have the bow off be sure to make sure it is tight when it goes back on. That will help a lot also.
