As the topic mentioned, the attached picture shows hamilton 927 movement, it has marked "Extral Special", what's the meaning of this? thanks a lot. | |||

A private label Jun Li, my understanding is that these were order by different jewellers and they could request just about any marking they wanted for a price. I do not think that this is any different adjustment wise then the other 927 grades. Very nice damaskeening and flashy font, all in all a nice looking movement. Cheers, Bila | |||

Rumor has it that Hamilton (and other Watch Makers) would do a specially signed finished and gratuitously "special" watch for a desired dealer to equip the Hamilton watch sales representative with a tool to gain entrée into that dealer's attention and business (orders). Not surprisingly, this was done early in the life of the company and such watches were usually lower Serial Numbers. This one is certainly a nice clean example of such. | |||
