After much haggling I am now the proud owner of the first reported example of the 12 size 17 j Illinois Grade 223 hunter--3,120,509. One run of 200 was believed to exist but no examples were ever seen or reported.

A grade 221 (15j OF version)may exist also.

Bob,

I think you have "the knack" for obtaining rare watches. Most people wouldn't know that this is an ultra rare item. I'm trying to learn how you do it, but my source of watches is mostly limited to ebay.

Congrats on another fabulous find! Big Grin

This watch was originally listed on Ebay.
To put things into perspective over 95% of my collection came from Ebay including most of my very rare watches.

Particularily for 12 size Ebay is a much better source for me than marts or regionals. Most dealers at these functions tend to over price 12
size watches and have a limited selection.

Keep looking as many scarce pieces continue to end up on Ebay.
