To all the members

Did you know? that timex and westclock, Make a pocket watch. Recently I was on eBay and I came across a Timex pocketwatch and Westclock big Ben. I thought that was interesting. So I thought I would pass on this information. the watch didn't cost that much.

Hey Jimmy,Those watches are referred to as "dollar watches",because back in the day, that's what they cost. I remember back in the fifties, and early sixties when the price went up to $2.98. That was a lot of money back then. There are folks nowadays that collect those dollar watches, and they are a very economical way to get into watch collecting. Some of the real rare ones are actually quite valuable now.

As I recall, Timex also had several offerings in the 1970's of pocket watches...one open face and one hunter.

Westclox made a number of dollar watches as they were called " Pocket Ben, Scotty, Dax" that is the ones i know and have. I made one up for my 15 month old that has a black plastic case. They come out with metal dial and later on paper ones.
