Does anyone know if a case marked "DERBY STURDY ROLLED PLATE" a canadian case?

American Watch Case Co. out of Toronto used the name Derby.

Found a link where someone else mentioned having a case with those markings as being Canadian, there is a photo of the case front but not the markings.

Hi Steve, yes Canadian made. I had a Derby case a few months back that was on a Regina (Canada sold Omega) 18s.

Roland.

I believe the Canadians imposed a tariff on American cases in order to encourage local industry. At least some Canadian cases were made by American makers who set up in Canada.
