Thanks a million Lorne, I can and will use all of those pics. I just have to stake out all the varieties, and then I can start dropping them in.

Yes, as you get them staked out I will have more of an idea what I am looking for. So just to be clear, in the case of my 17J Bunn. It could be marked Safety Pinion and Adjusted or just Adjusted and these would be considered variations of that variety? I actually started looking at the 17J but was finding more 24J and ended up on that track.

Leave a space just in case. I was checking things and realized two of the 23J are Hunting movements, I'll keep looking.

Lorne,
Yes, in Variety 1 of the 24-jewel Bunn Special for instance, the primary marking has SAFETY PINION, and then that was dropped around movement no. = about 1.5 million, so it's kind of a sub-variety.
That D.R.-marked 24-jewel Bunn Special you found qualifies as a full-fledged variety in its own right, just as that same marking has its own variety in the 21-jewel Bunn Specials.
There are probably D.R.-marked 23-jewel Bunn Specials as well. But in 1985, Bill Meggers didn't know they existed, so they aren't in the book.

Ed, I am going to post what I have up till now and any gaps will have to be filled in later. Can you recheck the 24J variety 1A, it just says Adjusted on the movement yet you show under Movements Marked: Temperature, 6 Positions, Isochronism.
