Admiralty MK IVa cockpit watch. These appear to be rather uncommon.

Hello Greg and friends,
oh I would like to own your watch as it is very unusual.
Attached you see a part of page 389 of my book 'British Military Timepieces' showing a RNAS aircraft pocket watch of WWI. It has a dial marking Admiralty Mark II A^D (Air Department). The watch is similar, but the dial is different. The broad arrow on the back is different but as well unusual. There is a second watch has the same dial markings but the more common W^D (War Department) on the back.

Thank you for your comments, Konrad. The larger and sometimes thicker broad arrows on Royal Navy timepieces are evident on other items of equipment as well. Webley revolvers issued to the Royal Navy at that time also had much larger broad arrows marked on them than those issued to land forces.
