USAF L-1 wrist compass "Click" to Login or Register
posted
Hi all,

recently came across a USAF L-1 wrist compass from the early 1950s (only the second I've ever seen). Thought I'd share a few quick pix here; makes a nice pair with the Waltham A-17:

Stange that this non-liquid wrist compass is nearly the same size as the Mark I Mod O dive compass of the same era.

Hope this was of interest - kind regards,

Billy

Hi William

I like that, I don't think I have ever seen one before.

I didn't realize we had more New Mexicans on here.

Billy how does it work with out liquid?Do they have a pin underneath the compass rose so that it rotates to show you north or south.

Thanks Tom - much appreciate the kind reply; we New Mexicans need to stick together / LOL.

Hiya' Mike - the compass is simply rotates on a center post; seems to be working very well after all these years too !

Kind regards,

Billy
