WW2 Ankra marked Kriegsmarine Artillery Pocket Chronograph "Click" to Login or Register
posted
In addition to my previous postings on high quality WW2 Kriegsmarine "Leonidas" marked artillery pocket chronographs (https://ihc185.infopop.cc/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/990103944/m/7333975997) I want to show some of these very rare "Ankra" marked versions. Have a look at the large hand for the chrono seconds. Ankra was founded 1925 in Leipzig and Münster as a sales cooperative ("Verkaufsgenossenschaft"). 1943 the Nazis officially prohibited Ankra. The brand was re-established in 1949. Compared to the silver made Leonidas cases these double hinged and just nickel plated brass cases are a little smaller. Also the white enamel dials of these chronos - compared to the "Leonidas" dials - are smaller. The movements of these "Ankra" chronos are unmarked but are the same (Unitas caliber 45). On the reverse of the chrono case you can see again the original Kriegsmarine eagle, underneath the letter "M" for "Marine" (navy), the abbreviation "Artl." for "Artillerie" (artillery) and the number "10611". My friend Konrad Knirim shows some of these KM chronos in his books. There are two other versions of these "Ankra" signed pieces I will show in this thread soon.

Regards, Florian

As promised here is the next "Ankra" marked pocket chronograph made for the Kriegsmarine in WW2. This very rare piece is almost identical compared to the one shown above. Although the navy inventory number "10673" on the back of the case is very close to "10611" - the chronograph was not issued to the Kriegsmarine artillery as "Artl." is missing. The eagle and the "M" are the same.

Here is another very rare "Ankra" marked pocket chronograph made for the Kriegsmarine in WW2 - again in very nice condition. Same movement, case, dial and hands like the pieces posted above. But have a look at the back: "Kriegsmarine", a small eagle and the "M" for "Marine" (navy).
