Hamilton-Comparing Watch Model 2974B,16 size,17 jewel,Hack was use by the US Navy by the quartermaster this has a different meaning in the Navy than the Army a quartermaster in the Navy is a petty officer or mate involed in steering the ship and navigation of the ship for you land lover's they would set the time to the ships chronometer then go on main deck to make celestail observations for navigation no GPS in WW2 they had to do it the hard way.

Mike,

Cool watches. I love the military Hamiltons! These were essential tools of navigation as evidenced by the heavily used cases.

Thanks for sharing,

John III
