Two military watches "Click" to Login or Register
posted
And to further confuse the matter I have not heard of any records that say whether a given watch was actually issued and if it was whether it stayed in the U.S. or was used in a war theater. There seem to have been some timepieces built and procured towards the end of the war or post war that were never issued and simply sold off as surplus by either the Army or by the watch companies themselves after the Army and Navy contracts to buy and deliver them were cancelled as the war ended.

I guess it will have to remain a mystery. Thanks a lot for your help.
