I have a WWII era British deck watch. It has an unmarked movement inside. My clock repair person, who I think is an expert in repairing and maintaing old time pieces says it is definately a high quality swiss movement, but, until I let him dissassemble it completly he cannot say more. My own internet research suggests it may be someting called a UNITAS 429 movement. My question is What is a UNITAS 429 movement and how does it realte to military time pieces? Thanks in advance

UNITAS is the maker of the movement. 429 is the model or "caliber" number of the watch movement. With some Swiss movements it's not possible to know who made it and what the caliber is without taking off the dial.
