Newmark 6BB-two button chronograph, issued to pilots
After years of searching, the watch is finally on my desk, now all four are together!
A watch that is rare and very difficult to find.
Newmark 6BB 2 pusher chronograph, nothing special, inside is Valjoux 7733 movement, the same as CWC and Hamilton, with only the Precista having a slightly altered movement. All four belonging to the asymmetically cased, double pusher family.
1970 Hamilton (RN/RAF/RAN)
1973 CWC
1980 Newmark
1981 Precista
The watch was only issued in 1980, and this is in a very small quantity, I would even say no more than 500-600 pieces, as the highest number seen so far is 499/80...Here´s my list;
140/80 Knirim Page 623
141/80
216/80
320/80
347/80
363/80
369/80
499/80

The Company has been around for quite a while in Croydon-England, but only producing low cost watches for the mainstream market.
Newmark was established in Britain in 1875 as an importer of Swiss watches. In 1947, with government backing, they began setting up a watchmaking factory in Croydon. Tooling for a simple Roskopf-type movement was imported from Switzerland and production commenced in 1950. All components not made at Croyden were bought in from other manufacturers in England. From 1960, they ceased manufacturing and reverted to the importing and servicing of Swiss watches.

My WWW collection is now complete, time to look for new ventures!
