Are there black and white dials on hamilton 4992 b
HELP

I remember reading that hamilton 4922b come with a black dial that is in greenwich civil time and a white dial based on 24 hour time.

Am I correct or confused?

All three examples appear to be marriages of movements with dials and cases that do not appear to be correct. For example none of these three have the military markings on the backs of their cases. Also, Whitney does not mention such combinations for the 4992b (see Chapter 18). I have read that after the war it was not uncommon for private watchmakers to modify 24 hour movements to 12 hour movements and redial and recase them to make them easy to sell to the civilian market so my initial thought is these could be examples of those.

Jim,

I just received a email confirming that, and you are right, it's going back.

Thanks
