Elgin canteen experts, was there ever a repro crown cover? "Click" to Login or Register

I just want to know, does anyone know if a repro cover was ever made. Not one from a Zeno canteen (I know the thread is completely different), but an actual crown cover created to fit with the Elgin Star case?

And if there was, has anyone used one? Any issues with fit?

I think it is a repro/aftermarket obviously, and should work with the case tube, but this one just doesn't screw down all the way. Ugh. I think I'm about to give up on this project.
