Hi I hope someone can help me here. I have this 4992B with gray painted hands, and was wondering if that is something that they might have done to help camouflage the watch for whatever reason.

I was going to just clean them up and paint them white, but decided to ask before I did it.

With a serial number of AF-58-6263, I believe it was used by the Air Force.

Thank you for any help.

Regards,
Larry

4992B hands were originally white, not gray. If they are gray now, IMHO it's because sometime in the last 50-60 years, the white paint either oxidized or someone had the hands refinished.

Best Regards,

Ed
