Elgin Master Navigation watch AN5740 WW2





This is Elgin's verson of the AN5740 you see more Hamilton's.Elgin used the the B.W.Raymond grade 581 21jewel movement but added one more jewel for the bearing in the rear plate for the sweep second hand if you look at the movement you will see 21 jewel but it's 22 jewel like the 4992b.Also it hacks,16 size,And the case it's in is called a magnetic shielded,shock-absorbent metal canister type carring case.

My Longines A9 that came in as "an old pocket watch in a grey tin can" is the flagship, it is still in the "Chronometer" class of accuracy.

Daved did notice on the longines regulator is almost like the regulator on a Hamilton model 22.
