Self Winding Clock Company
Are there any collectors of self winding clocks out there that could share information about them including pictures, parts sources and who repairs them? There are some old posts about them but that information was from several years ago.

Yes John,
They are very interesting and nice clocks to collect or just have. The clocks are very well built and most of the ones I have seen have Seth Thomas's work in them. They run on a three volt battery that energize a coil by magnetise and demagetising the coil which in turn winds the small main spring usually every hour. The clocks being wound frequently usually every hour keeps as good time as most weight driven clocks.
As a matter of fact, back in the day these clocks used a coil inside the clock that received a signal from the Naval Observatory Time that corrected these clocks at a set time such as 12:00 each day to correct the time if needed. Obviously these coils are not needed today, but can remain in the clock, but are just bypassed. There are a few places on the internet that repair these clocks.
A fun clock to have!!
