Sessions Desk?? Clock
I am soliciting opinions as to whether this clock is worth saving. It will need a new cannon pinion, it is friction fit and has cracked, and the winding arbor is snapped off at the plate. I call it a desk clock for lack of a better name. It is time only. I think I can silver solder the pinion and I can make a new winding arbor. I just wonder if its worth the trouble.
I found one like it on Antique clock price guide web site but since I do not subscribe I got no information.
Thanks for looking,

Joe

Joseph,

If this was my clock and I had the expertise/tools to fix it, I would! Smile

Joe,
That is a very pretty little clock. It is called the "Coquette" and is dated 1932 in Tran's Sessions book.

Besides silver it came in gold, orchid, blue, green and red.

I will note the value of it as listed in the 2002 price guide ($75), but as you know that number doesn't reflect many factors that make a particular clock have a certain value for the owner.

The repairs are major, the satisfaction in completing the repairs would be great. The cost of repair if you took it somewhere to be done would greatly exceed the listed value of the clock.

If it were mine, and I really enjoyed the case, then I would tackle the repair.

If you go ahead with it, please take some before and after pictures and keep us posted!

Thanks!

Tom
