Could I impose on the members one more time to help me identify the model and approximate date of the pictured clock?

Thanks, Joe

Joe,
as close as I can figure, it is the "Madeline" made in 1904. The picture in the book is identical to yours with two exceptions. 1) yours has a visible escapement. The one in the book is not pictured with visible escapement, but the availability of same is listed in the description. It would cost you an extra 75 cents to get that option. 2) the decorative treatment at the top of the one in the book has a design similar to the one at the bottom of the clock. Etched rather than applied.

Hope this helps.

I found this French Mantle clock while browsing Ebay. Makes you wonder where the design originated. The dimensions are exactly the same as my Ansonia but the case is Belgian slate, the Ansonia is cast iron. I bet it outweighs mine by several pounds.
