I am happily working on a Baby Ben clock from 1920. It's all going great, but I am missing all of the case screws except for one. It's a size 1 on the screw plate I have. I would really like to make the other screws, but am having trouble finding information on the actual sizes of the screws and the size stock I would need.
Baby Ben Clocks were made in the US. The screws used were most likely either UNC or UNF. (1-64 or 1-72) Machinery's Handbook is available in pdf downloadable free online. If you haven't a hard (paper) copy, you should download it. In there, you will find screw thread data for UNC, UNF, British Standard, Whitworth, Waltham, Elgin, and Swiss, among others.
