I thought you'd like to see some of my latest Texas clocks. As some of you may recall I make these using a variety of materials which are found in the Texas Hill Country. The movements are all quartz. Figure I Dave Freeman IHC Member 321

Dave, Interesting theme that lends itself well to the design. Have you considered producing in quantity and marketing through gift shops? Dr. Debbie

Dr.Debbie, the availability and cost of some of the raw materials, particularly the fossilized Texas limestone prohibit such an endeavor. The stone is getting very difficult to find with the proper type of crustations. I belong to a local artists association and content myself with making and selling about 8-10 clocks per year. I get a lot of pleasure out of making them, and although they're very similar I try to make each one slightly different. Due to the different types of materials I use in each clock the time to make one style vs. another will vary as will the overall cost. Dave Freeman IHC Member 321

Dave, those are well done and make an excellent display of some beautiful natural materials. Tom
