Do You Think This Clock Needs a Bushing?
This is one of the worst I've seen. It's a New Haven School Clock with no evidence of previous repairs.

Ken,

Rotate the bushing 180 degrees and it will be fine Wink.

GREETINGS KENNETH, I WOULD PUT A NEW BUSHING IN AND CHECK THE PIVOT TO SEE IF IT IS WORN IN ANY WAY IT NO DOUBT IS EITHER TAPERED OR IT HAS A STEP IN IT. EDDIE

I was expecting a routine pivot polishing, but the pivot was made about .020" (.5 mm) out of round at the factory, which helped to explain the unusual wear. I turned it true in the lathe before polishing.
