Holger KoesterI only found the information that this is a prototype: "PROTO-TYPE BENRUS CLOCK: Gazda self winding model DK14, fifteen jewels, chrome case. 2 1/2" dia. face. Given to the current owner by the inventor of self winding watches."

John ArrowoodPerhaps for one of those 1950's era clocks for autombiles. The clocks were put in the center hub of the steering wheel and were kept wound by the rotation of the wheel. I have a vague recollection of seeing one or more for sale in the past few months.
