Sidney BelzbergQuestions about a "wag on the wall" clock from the 1700s with wooden movement
Here is an interesting clock purchased in the last few years in Prague. It's movement is all wood and it chimes via the blacksmiths hammering on the quarter hour. The eyes move back and forth every time the clock ticks.
Apparently it is form the Black Forest region, anyone that has any info would be appreciated.

Eddie G. HinesGREETINGS SYDNEY, THE CARVING ON THE CLOCK DOES NOT REALY APPEAR TO BE OF BLACK FOREST ORIGIN I BELIEVE IT COULD BE A CZECH. CLOCK. THE CARVING IS VERY INTRICATE AND DETAILED. DOES THE CLOCK STRIKE ON A BELL OR GONG? ALSO ARE THE CLOCK PLATES WOOD OR CAST BRASS? IF THEY ARE BRASS DO THE FINISH MARKS ON THE PLATES RUN IN A STRAIGHT LINE OR ARE THEY ARC SHAPED. TAKE CARE.
