Translation Please
The picture below shows a plaque attached to the top of a nice German clock. Can anyone help with the translation?

Hello Tom,

It is a bit difficult to read the lettering due to flash's reflection, but I think it maybe some type of dedication clock for some kind of service...

Tom,

Try this site. Sometimes I get lucky and get a translation that makes sense.

Joe,
Thanks for the link to the site. This is what I typed in and what I got.

quote:
Herrn Josef Rollig
In anerkennung seines verdienst
vollen wirkens gewidmet von der Spar & Vorschuss
cassa in Neustadtl

Mr. Josef Rollig in acknowledgment his merit/service of full working dedicated of save & advance cassa in Neustadtl

I would figure it is to Josef Rollig for his good work at a savings and loan in Neustadtl.

Thanks again for the link.

Somehow it looked a whole lot more impressive in German.
