Ged,
It does sound like the warning. It ran for weeks, and then decided to get fussy. Those are usually minor problems that are difficult to determine without it being in hand. Sometimes the count lever is rubbing against the slots in the countwheel. This can cause enough friction to stop the clock. A bent tooth on the countwheel could also cause a problem. The best place to look for that is at the one o'clock portion of the wheel.

Lifting and locking wires, if not lubed can also cause extra friction.

Very tough to tell without having it in hand.

Hi Tom, i read not good to lube lifting wires.Though i think some lubrication is better than none, just not too much.
My waterbury , the strike side does not even work, just the time side, i think that is weird.Maybe i will email you about that one.

Kevin, I put a very thin touch of PML Stem Grease where the wires rub against cams or other wires. It hasn't been a problem.
