The following was received from NAWCC Chair Judy Draucker:

Dear Members,

It is with deep sorrow that I announce the death of NAWCC Past President Ward
H. Francillon of Atlanta, Georgia. Ward died at his home yesterday, October
25, 2004.

Ward served as NAWCC President from 1981 to 1983 and over the years has held
various committee positions.

In the late 1970s, Ward led the effort to establish an educational seminar
hosted by NAWCC. Approval was received from the NAWCC Council, and Ward and
other interested horological academics organized and hosted the first NAWCC
Seminar in 1980 in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. The 25th in the Seminar series
will be held later this week in Portland, Oregon.

In 2002, the NAWCC Council chose to honor Ward by renaming the NAWCC Seminar
the 'Ward Francillon Time Symposium, Sponsored by the National Association of
Watch and Clock Collectors, Inc.'

No formal funeral or memorial service is planned, in accordance with Ward's
wishes. His wife, Mary, suggests "When you who knew him get together, your
shared memories and appreciation of his life will in fact be the only "memorial
services" he would want, and the very best kind."

The NAWCC Board and Staff join me in extending condolences to Mary, their
children and grandchildren. Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers.
