Tom how does a slave clock work. I am guessing that the main clock sends a signal that must be a pulse.

When I was in Canada there where big clocks on the streets corners that the bus driver said where steam driven. Of coarse I did not get a chance to stop. I was like a kid in the candy store staring thru the glass but did not have a cent in my pocket to even hold a piece a candy.

they were usually timed by electic pulse ,or if mechanically run, wound by electric pulse from the master clock,as in a school or factory with one master and many slave clocks as far as I know
