CARTONNIER C. 1770 in KEY WEST "Click" to Login or Register
posted
I came across this lovely old French Cartonnier C. 1770 clock last week in Key West Florida.

It's currently located at the Heritage House Museum in the Robert Frost Cottage which itself dates to around 1834. This cottage was originally built by an English sea captain who eventually became a wrecker. This was in the early seafaring days off the Florida Keys.

With the impending onslaught of hurricane Ivan within the next week or so, I fear for it's continued safety.

Enjoy Razz

Wow! That is a very unusual and interesting piece. Thanks for the great post. Did they have it running? I hope it survived and continues to survive the violent weather.
