Here is a Solar clock i bought at ch 111 meeting.
Works very well and price was right.
Does anyone know the aproximate year made and who would have been the seller.I am thinking a Canadian department store.

Kevin PestorSolar is the name on the dial.I have 2 Solar clocks, both mantle clocks.
I guess they are not popular outside of Canada, as others from the u.s have not seen them either.

Grant PerryHi Kevin:
Nice case. Do you have a picture of the movement? Is it German made?
Take care,

Andy KrietzerKevin,
Could it have been made by Hermle? I have a couple of anniversary clocks with Solar on the dial, and I think they were made by Hermle. I'll have to check the Horolovar guide tonight to see what it says, but I am thinking it was Hermle.

Tom SeymourKevin,
That is a very attractive mantle clock. I have not heard of "Solar" either. I will be waiting to see what information turns up on that name.

Shawn JohnstonHi Kevin
Your solar clock was sold by the now defunked Eaton's department store. They are fast becoming highly sought after due to this.To my knowledge they all had an FHS(Hermle)movement, either Westminister or Bim-Bam,I have also worked on a few that had a single chime.
Hope this helps
Keep Ticking
Cheers Shawn
