Ansonia and Kern on the storeroom "Click" to Login or Register
posted
I found these clocks stored on the storeroom when visiting my grandfather's house two days ago. My grandmom want to sell this clocks but I know nothing about this clocks. Please help me..

The first clock is Ansonia wall clock. I found Ansonia Patent sign inside this clock but I don't know the exact year of manufactured. I found no serial number inside this clock casing or near the patent sign. My grandmom said that 1 of the spring inside this clock was made from gold, is that right?

The second clock is a Kern clock. It's a 30 cm high glass clock.

I need some information about those 2 clocks. Year of manufactured, and the price if I want to sell that clock.

Thank you for your help.

Bobby,
The Ansonia looks like from about 1920. The 1999 price guide from Tran, puts it at $400-$500. I could not find the exact picture of it, but the ones pictured were very similar, just slightly different configurations in the lower glass.

What is the oval in the middle of the door?

Bobby,
The Kern anniversary clock dates to the late 1950s or 1960s. The figures on the pendulum are very desireable. Are they plastic or ceramic? If good condition, in the US the clock sells (approximately) in the $150 to $250 range.

So many clocks, so little time.

Thank you guys for the replies.

The oval thing on the Ansonia's door is only a sticker. My little nephew put that sticker before I take a picture of it.

About the kern, the dolls are made from ceramic. It's on good and original condition. My grandparents never use it before because they have so many antique clocks on their house. I will post the clocks later after I can find them somewhere in my grandparents' house.

Once again... Thank you for the replies. The replies help me so much.
