Seth Thomas Question
I have a Seth Thomas balloon case clock that I am trying to date. The photo is not as good as I would like but should suffice. The case has some good inlays. The movement is the round type and is mounted in the case by two straps in the French style. I got some Tran D. Ly books for Christmas but this clock was not in them.

Thanks for looking,

Joe

Joe,
Is that just a reflection? I see two "15"s next to the "3". The clock looks nice, but I can't tell you anything about it. My guess is it is from the 1930s +/- 10 years.

Joe,
This looks like your clock. The inlay is slightly different, but the in the same style. The rest of the case looks the same. The difference in dial styles is not uncommon and various options were offered.

The picture is from Tran's Seth Thomas Book.

Thanks much Tom. I gave this clock to my daughter several years ago but was unable to tell her much about it. This does not seem to be a popular model as I have been searching the web and she has searched also but we came up empty. She will be glad to know it's about a century old.
Andy, Flash photography sucks!! I had to get the picture while visiting my daughter and was unable to take it outside for natural light. Natural, outdoor, light is my favorite source but it is currently missing about 15 hours a day.

Thanks again,

Joe
