Here's a clock that must of had an "easy" life. A little flaking of the center tablet. OK, I will admit I had the one of the columns repaired and both of them cleaned. One of the columns had a damaged area where the gilding and gesso was skinned off and was repaired by painting the area with gold paint. All that was removed and properly repaired.

Derek, beauty clock.
The past owners of this clock treated it very well.In great shape for it,s age.
The case looks almost like a maple burl at the bottom of it.Nice case and great tablet.

Beautiful Empire style clock! Great condition, nice job on the restoration. I love those lyre movements.

Maybe we can get a thread going here on lyre movement clocks.

(I would add a picture now, but I am just recovering from a hard drive crash and many pictures have been lost. I know I have back up cds somewhere of many, but now I have to find those! Roll Eyes)
