fusee chains
Does anyone know if there were any carriage clocks that had fusee chains? I ask because I am looking for something larger that a fusee pocket watch chain, but smaller than a standard marine chronometer chain.

greetings ian, it would help if you could give an approx. width and length. if you have the fusee measure the width of the groove. i belong to the b.h.i. if you could give me a little more information i will email some one to see what i can find. eddie

I reckon we are talking about .60mm (.0235 inch) and about 18 inches in length. I have an early, small, Arnold & Dent chronometer which is missing many parts but is of historical interest. I am trying to get it a bit more up together than it is. It's quite small with a 3.25inch dial.

Thanks Eddie, I will send a few more details and photos about this chronometer as it may be of general interest. Ian
