William Mittlestadt had provided the pictures and information for this post.

The Seth Thomas Reg. No. 19 is perhaps the most sought after regulator by clock collectors. It was produced from the early 1880's until around 1910.

The Seth 19 and Seth 16 were very similar, the 19 having a mercury pendulum and the 16 having a bob pendulum.

The 16 had two versions an early and late model. The late 16 had a case exactly like a Seth 19 and the early 16 had a thinner case which was about 1 1/4" thinner and used a different bracket to mount the mov't. The bracket in the early 16 was identical to the bracket in a Seth No. 3.

The earlier 19's came with smooth jars and the later ones came with "thumb print" jars.

It has been reported that the Santa Fe railroad ordered over 300 of the model 19.

The Seth 19 is 75" tall, 23" wide and 10" deep. This clock was made in walnut, mahogany, cherry and oak. I have had it in all of the woods and kept the oak one because of the beautiful burl trim and back board. The
Seth 19 cost $225.00 new in 1909 and the Seth 16 cost $112.50 new in 1909

Take a look at the Photo gallery "New toy" for another great wall clock, and an example with the inscribed bob.
