Sheila GilbertHow about a year for this one?
Can someone tell me the year of this clock.
It's an Elgin Welby, in original box.
I realize these maye not be very old or popular, but I do like the "Digital" of yesteryear.
Can you believe the name "Digital" on a watch today! Oh how the world changes.

Andy KrietzerSheila,
I think it would date to the late 1960s or early 1970s. It could be from the 1950s too but I doubt it. I know there was a company that made digital clocks in the 1950s but it had a different type of numbers.

Sheila GilbertThank you Andy, the auction said 1960's but I like to check to make sure.
It's a lot bigger in person than it is in the picture, and it is spotless and new in the box. I like it.
Kind of weird to buy one from the 60's when I look at late 1800's or early 1900's pocket watches all day!

Tom SeymourSheila,
I can't add anything to the dating info on the clock, but I also like those early digitals.
Are there any patent dates on it?

Sheila GilbertHi Tom,
I didn't see any from the Outside, and I'm going to take the back off as soon as I can.
It's wild, it still has the knob in an envelope that attaches to the side of the clock, to change the time. Never opened!
Since this is a Welby by Elgin National Industries Inc., maybe that would be a clue?
I wonder when Elgin National Industries Inc. started?
Anyway, I will let you know what I find out, when I open it.
