High End S. Marti?
Pictured is my S. Marti slate cased mantle clock. I consider it a "high end" clock due to the craftsmanship involved in making of the case. I have seen one other clock almost exactly like this one except the marble on it was gray.
The movement is signed S. Marti et Cie Medaille de Bronze. This dates it between 1860 and 1889. The serial number is 1638 which should put it near the early end of the range. I think it looks pretty good for a 140 year old clock. Unfortunately the pendulum number does not match. The back door was also broken off. I have made a temporary door and continue to search for a proper replacement.

Hi, Nice clock, I had one just like it, These Visible Escapement Clocks are becoming quite collectable. Britten calls this Escapement PIN PALLET, invented by M BROCOT. Regards, Ged. PS, The Pendulum # on French Clocks is usually the Length in Metric and is not meant to match the Movement # in my experience.
