Picked up an old Hamilton Tourneau watch. Has radium hands and numbers. They still glow. Is it safe to wear? Thanks.

Mark, I think what you mean is "radium" hands. Radon is the gas which is emitted from a radium base element. Tom

Yep, made an error, thanks.

As long as you do not eat it or in any other way put it INTO your body, you are OK. The range of the radiation is very short and cannot penetrate the watch body. The women who painted the numbers would lick the brushes to keep a fine point. They were eating it and painting their lips day after day. Don
