William J. Hansen, Ph.D.This was an interesting auction. The Hamilton Pacermatic is a very rare example of a Non-Electric Pacer. While production records are not clear, it appears that very few were made. Many fakes exist. This one is reported to have a redial, but is otherwise authentic and original. Rene Rondeau sold a Pacermatic from his own collection, with an original dial last month on ebay. I don't recall exactly, but I seem to remember that it achieved in the neighborhood of $4500. Like the Solid Gold Pacer, the Pacermatic is prized among the Hamilton Electric Wristwatch Collectors.
