Wakmann Vietnam Era Pilot/Diver Chrono? Need ID Help..Gerald?
Looks early/Mid 60s

Has a Landeron 51 movement marked Wakmann

Marked "waterproof" with a wrench on back like Rolex

# on back is 314/10

Dial marked "RA Swiss Ra"

Is this supposed to have a bezel, or??

Anyone know?
Thanks for your help!

I think so, almost all dive watches have one. Notice the smooth as silk flat bezel edge. That so clean from never getting hit.

Werner; Got a bigger pic? I can't see this one. I looked in the Shugart book, all the Wakmann chronos look like this one same flat spot no bezel.....would like to see what is in the pic, doesn;t look like the same watch.

Hi Tom, sorry no bigger picture. I got the picture from here (many more there): Wakmann Diver

Can you post a picture of the watch flat from the side, the rim is usually used to clip the bezel on.

Regards

Dive watches from that era all have bezels that turn one way only. You set it to the time you descend then you know how long you are down. It only turns one way so that you can only accidentally shorten, not lengthen, your dive time. With modern dive computers these are a relic of the past but many still use one as a back-up.

Werner; Thanks for the link...I think you're right, this needs a bezel. (See below pic of pretty much the same watch, same crystal with a narrow bezel)

Mike; I think you're right as well, now to find the correct one way bezel, this is my watchmakers he'll have to fit a bezel before selling it to bring anything.

Thanks for the help, Guys!
