HI, I have a watch that has no serial number or date code on the back. I know it is a 219, I had the back off. I bought it on E Bay for 53.00. When I got it, it was running but it would stop at 17 minutes before the hour every time, the hour hand varied when it stopped, the second hand did not stop and it still hummed, three times in three days and then it ran ok for about 4 months, now it is doing it again. What is wrong with it ?

Welcome Aboard John!

I have had the minute hand drag on the underside of the crystal and it acted exactly as you describe, so check that first. Should that not be the problem, the canon pinion may be slipping.

Accutrons are great watches!

Lindell,

If the canon gear is slipping, is that a major problem ? I know nothing about fixing watches.

What part of NE ohio are you ?

IM in Minerva, 16 miles east of Canton on RT 30
