Stephanie O'NeilAn accidental discovery!
I accidently discovered signed stems

while taking pictures of a Bulova wristwatch in my collection.
Take a look!

Stephanie O'NeilAs a result of this discovery, I checked stems on other wristwatches in my collection and to my surprise,

found various insignias.

Here's a few I found.

Kind of interesting!

Tom HuberHi Steph, You will find that most of the major watch companies had the crowns with insignias. A couple that come to mind that you did not show are Elgin and Omega.

Someone say "Omega" signed (Ω) on their crowns? Oh yeah...April 04, 2004, 12:46
Stephanie O'NeilTom,
Thanks for your input. I've got a few Elgin ww's but none with insignia on crown. Wondering if insignias were put on pocket watch crowns?

Checked all of mine do not have any with a signed crown.

Can or will someone post a pic of an Elgin insignia or other american insignias on crown?

Lindell,
Beautiful watch!

Jerry TreimanThis post inspired me to look through my box of loose wristwatch crowns, and I turned up the following examples. Lots of "B" names, but what is the plain "B"? BTW, I have not seen this type of marking on pocketwatch crowns.

Stephanie O'NeilHi Jerry,
Glad I inspired you to look through your box of crowns. Neat examples!
Does anyone know what the B symbolizes?

Seems all but one are foreign manufacturers.

Has anyone seen a marked Elgin crown?

Thanks Jerry!

Julian J. SmithHi Folks,
I think the plain "B" is for Benrus or Belforte, which was a Benrus brand. Hamilton also had a logo on their crowns. Also "Hamilton Railroad" on pocket crowns on some cases.
