Justin J. MillerVintage Rolex Daytona?
I am a clock guy, jumping boards...
I am interested in picking up a Vintage Rolex Daytona.
One I could wear, so mint condition would not be an issue.. but it would need to be clean.
What would I have to pay to get one these days?
What are the differences between the models (vintage models)
Thanks for your help,
Justin

Jim WalzHi Justin,
Please define vintage. Do you want a Paul Newman model or just an older steel model. You will spend anywhere between 6k and 22k good luck on your search. I had 6 steel Daytona's last year all new or like new models and they all sold in excess of 8.5k

Justin J. MillerWhat is the difference between a paul newman adn a "older steel"?
I have wanted one for along time,I bought a new SS daytona in 2004...thinking it would work... not my cup of tea.
I would like to spend around 10K

Jim WalzI will get some books out tomorrow and give you the Newman reference numbers. Is the 2004 for sale?

Justin J. MillerI was lucky to get it, I called my local Rolex dealer in SLC asking about a SS Daytona.
He got one in the day before (The first in 12 months)
I drove down with cash and paid him $500 over Rolex retail and brought it home.
After a few months I decided I wanted a vintage Daytona...
I used it in a trade towards a high end musical clock a few months back... needless to say it was not hard to get rid of.
