Fossil has invented A New Twist on wristwatches. I happened on this watch recently and just had to have it.

Fossil has invented the Twist Series- Precision quartz timing with a patented mechanical dial.

Take a look!

What will the watch industry think of next?

I do like the idea very much. What do you think?

I like the watch too, do you know if they make a men's watch, without the glitter? Also do you know why it is called the twist?

Thanks Debbie. Interesting watch for sure. Wanted to share this info with my watch Chapter 185 buddies Smile

Hi Tom,
Yes, Fossil makes the twist series for Men as well. They also have men's automatic twist series watches.

I think the idea Fossil had in calling the Twist series, is used because with the twist of a wrist, the balance wheel is set in motion. The combination of the balance wheel moving but yet run by battery is so cool and inventive, I just love!

So does the battery run the balance?

Hey Stephanie, what you got there is a neat 'Twist' on an old theme Big Grin
The visible balance is a take on the old 'Hebdomas' visible escapement feature on early 1900's wrist and PW's - 'cept they're spring driven Cool

I recently sold off a few electronic wristwatches that were battery powered, Lanco's I think, which had balances impulsed by an electromagnetic coil just under the rim, none of it visible though.
Typically I think I've deleted all the photo's now.

Your watch kind of takes in both technologies. .......... and also has 'Incabloc' type shock protection on the balance endstone Razz
