Certainly not an authority on these but that doesn't sound like a normal Bulova number. What's marked on the back case cover? And what is the number under the balance?
Tried to look it up in my Bestfit catalog, but no such numbers to be found. Maybe an AS or an ETA?

Mel is that a Caravelle watch as these had a 1453.30 P1 model movement in them. Dave is close to the mark as these Bulova's used AS movements, if you have a look under the balance wheel you will see the AS caliber number, as I can not make it out properly from the photo

Starting around 1980 or so Bulova went to an all decimal movement numbering system (which was becoming the norm for the industry). It began with Accutrons: 2180, 2181, 2182, then 219, 2191.10 2192.10 etc. etc. By this time Bulova movements were being supplied by numerous factories, so the old system for mostly in-house movements (7AK, 11ANAC,etc.) was no longer viable. (BTW Bestfit encyclopedia part 1 covers up to the mid 1960s, part 2 up to about 1970. A few supplements for stems and staffs were printed separately. After that updates were on microfiche, then superceded by Matsys online Swiss parts database).
