Bruce StewartWhich wristwatch did you wear today?
This is my latest acquisition, an 80-year-old LeCoultre. It is 14K gold and is sporting knotted lugs. I've been wearing it for several days and it is keeping excellent time. Cool inscription on the back to follow.

Bruce StewartLast week I was out antiquing and came across this solid 14K Gruen Verithin. The price was right, so I jumped on it. When I got it home I disassembled it so I could clean the dial and underside of the crystal. While I had it apart, I also swapped in a correct minute hand and seconds hand. As purchased, the hour hand and minute hand weren't of the same style. This is a really nice example and hard to find in 14K.

Greg CrockettToday I have a mysterious Lathin. I like the bronze patina which compliments the dial and strap. Sometimes, loosing the nickel plate is not all bad. But, is it really a Lathin, or something else?

Greg CrockettLooking at the stainless steel back, I can see someone removed/stamped out the name Helbros!

Greg CrockettInside the back cover Lathin has been scratched on.

Greg CrockettThe mystery deepens as we examine the movement. Again, Helbros has been defaced and Lathin scratched on. The manufacturer's code has also been changed on the balance cock.
Whatever the cause of this mysterious renaming, the watch works well and keeps time.
