quite lovely Werner, though it saddens me a bit as it reminds me of my Submariner which I felt I had to sell when they told me I probably wouldn't survive the cancer Wink I fooled them and lived ,but now can't afford to replace my Rolex Wink

Yes for sure I'd rather have my life and still be able to see my family, than have my Rolex Submariner, and have succumbed to the cancer, that is surely the reality of a balanced view of life LOL Big Grin Wink

Today I'm wearing my 1966 Railroad Approved Accutron. I just discovered that the seconds hack feature works too. Smile

Well,

I'm wearing my ancient Clebar I got in college ca.1968.
It's been my main wristwatch since then. It's been out in the field, covered in plaster and generally abused and looks it. It has a Landeron movement. Still my baby, though!

Wow!!!

Bet it was a just a tad prettier.

~1968 my cousin visited from Annapolis flashing his snazzy new Omega, and I had a bad case of envy. I couldn't afford an Omega, but scraped up 1/3 the price for the Clebar. What you see is the new crystal. The previous ones were even worse!

In 1968 I bet you pay $135.56 for that Clebar Smile
here is the picture of the Clebar I sold

Peter,

A great looking watch. In 1968, I think I paid around 75 dollars at Alexanders department stone in New York for mine. Your three dial watch probably has a Valjoux movement. Much more collectable movement. http://www.onthedash.com/poormans.shtml

I decided to go for my other chrono today. Valjoux movement. Originally these had plastic bands to match the face. I wear it with bright cloth bands in similar colors. Lots of these late 60-s early 70-s chronos seem to have bright dials.

Lord Elgin - Buren 1321 30J - (Also used in Bulova 12ECACD - Hamilton 630)
Found this in my junk drawer today. I'll wear it for a week or so, and if it measures up I might just treat it to a cleaning/service and a new band!
Sorry for the blurry picture, I just didn't want to take it apart again.
