Bought this watch. It is 14k gold filled, with a serial #32878706. Anyone know anything about this watch? Age/history/facts,or value? Advice appreciated, thanks.

Hi Mark,

Welcome to 185. Smile

The serial number dates the movement to circa 1930, 1931.

It appears to me to have the correct hour hand but the minute hand looks wrong. The dial looks correct.

The case might be signed Elgin w/ a few numbers on the inside back cover - 4/0 and the number 472. This would indicate your watch to be one of the Elgin "Home Run" models. I've not seen it in yellow.

Do you own a copy of the Cooksey Shugart Price guide?

Hi Mark,

The Cooksey Shugart guide can be used to look up a serial number for some wristwatches. That was the case here. Good luck. Smile
