Here's an entry into the wire lug category from Hamilton... although it is not a conversion since it came cased from the factory. It is the company's first men's wristwatch... the large 0-size, grade 981 sterling silver "Cushion" model, which was introduced in 1919 and produced through 1923 until it was replaced by the smaller 6/0 size, grade 986 Cushion model. The crown is obviously a replacement. Only 1,309 of these watches were produced in sterling, making it a very scarce model.

And here's a picture of the 981 movement from the watch above. It has some rather lovely and ornate damaskeening which most of Hamilton's later wristwatch movements lack.

John Duvall, Not sure if this watch counts as a wire lug watch! John did a great job restoring of my little 3/0 Elgin conversion watch. I love it! Thanks again John! Stephanie O'Neil
